We all get ideas.
Some of us attempt to write them down.
Fewer can actually read them afterwards.
What is Coggle?
Coggle is a free online app for building mind-maps (for some reason however, there’s no mention for the “mind-map” term in their description - wikipedia mentions it though).
It effortlessly turns your ideas into a beautifully visualised story.
To use Coggle, you sign-up with your Google account. If you want, you can organize your “Coggles” using Google Drive.
Features
- Coggle has a very simple, aesthetic, flat design about it. You can view your coggle easily with minimal obstructive menu options (which toggle neatly from the side).
- You can download coggles (as pdf, image or other advanced formats).
- You can collaborate on coggles.
- It has shortcuts. Shortcuts are nice! Case in point, press tab and you’ll traverse to the (existing/new) child node of your current node. Node, item, element, whatever you prefer to name it (coggle uses item). shift + tab , intuitively, traverses to the parent item. Also, classic undo ( ctrl + z ) and redo ( ctrl + y ) are supported.
- Another plus is how the colors automatically alter per branch, and vary in shade with sub-branches (or child items) - so by default, you'll have a colorful coggle. You can also alter the color of an item branch if you want.
- They supports clickable URLs and you can add images.
Uses
Coggle - and mind-maps in general - is an awesome way to visualise ideas and their branching. Here's a coggle I prepared on some fun mind-map ideas to try.
